The White Stripes anunciaron el fin definitivo de la banda :(

Asi lo publicaron en su pagina web. Dios, Ala, Buda y Chuck Norris quieran que cambien de opinión. Al menos llegué a verlos en vivo. La verdad que estoy muy triste, mas que nada por los rumores y dichos (incluso de ellos) de una posible reunión.. y me había esperanzado.

Y asi se va la mejor banda de la década 2000-2010. He dicho.


Comunicado oficial:

The White Stripes would like to announce that today, February 2nd, 2011,
their band has officially ended and will make no further new recordings or perform live.

The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any
health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health.

It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve What is beautiful and special about
the band and have it stay that way.

Meg and Jack want to thank every one of their fans and admirers for the incredible
support they have given throughout the 13 plus years of the White Stripes’ intense and
incredible career.

Third Man Records will continue to put out unreleased live and studio recordings from
The White Stripes in their Vault Subscription record club, as well as through regular
channels.

Both Meg and Jack hope this decision isn’t met with sorrow by their fans but that it is
seen as a positive move done out of respect for the art and music that the band has
created. It is also done with the utmost respect to those fans who’ve shared in those
creations, with their feelings considered greatly.

With that in mind the band have this to say:

“The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong
to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is
that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your
involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”

En Criollo: 

Los White Stripes quisieramos anunciar que hoy, 2 de febrero de 2011, 
la banda ha terminado oficialmente y no hará nuevas grabaciones o shows en vivo. 

La razón no es debido a diferencias artísticas o falta de deseo de continuar, ni ningun 
problema de salud tanto de Meg, como de Jack. Se sienten bien y en buen estado de salud. 


Es por un conjunto de razones, pero sobre todo para preservar lo que es bello y especial 
la banda y que tiene que quedar asi. 

Meg y Jack quisieran dar las gracias a cada uno de sus fans y admiradores por el increíble 
apoyo que le han dado a lo largo de los mas de 13 años de la intensa e increible carrera de los White Stripes. 

Third Man Records continuará lanzando grabaciones inéditas en vivo y de estudio de 
The White Stripes en su "Vault Subscription Record Club" , así como a través de canales regulares. 

Tanto Meg como Jack esperan que esta decisión no se encuentre con el dolor de sus fans, sino que es 
visto como un paso positivo hecho por respeto al arte y la música que la banda ha 
creado. También se hace con el máximo respeto a los fans que han compartido las 
creaciones, con sus sentimientos considerados en gran medida. 

Con esto sabido, la banda quisiera agregar: 

"The White Stripes ya no pertenecen a Meg y a Jack. The White Stripes te pertenecen 
a ti ahora y tu puedes hacer con eso lo que quieras. La belleza del arte y la música es 
que puede durar para siempre si la gente lo quiere. Gracias por compartir esta experiencia. Su 
participación nunca se perderá en nosotros y estamos muy agradecidos. "
